London Walks

London Walks

London is divided into many district neighbourhoods, from Hammersmith to Hackney and from Battersea to Bethnal Green. The city is cut in two, both geographically and socially, by the north/south line of the River Thames.

The walks on this site cover the whole city, from south to north, east to west. With a few exceptions all the walks here are one or two miles long. Depending on your pace and the number of stops you make along the way most will take one to two hours to complete.

These walks will lead readers past London at its most splendid, sprawlingly boisterous and peaceful. The routes pass ornate buildings designed by great architects, from Christopher Wren to Norman Foster. They travel through both the oldest neighbourhoods in the city and the new areas, recently rejuvenated by the latest wave of cool. It’s all here.

One thing we do get asked about is how safe is London Town to walk, well it is as safe as any major world city. be sensible, don't carry your passport, leave it in your hotel. and be mindful of showing to much cash. If you are sensible then Central London, and the outskirts are really very safe and very friendly. Londoners walk London, as a city lots of us walk around it, so it is safe.
