Dance Till Dusk
| CONCRETE Soundshaft, Villiers Street, WC2 (020 7930 2020). First Sun of the month, 3pm-11pm. While the rest of London settles down to a road dinner, the papers and perhaps, if energy permits, brushing the dog, there is a band of hardcore clubbers getting down to Peter Wardman’s boshing beats. For some reason this place attracts lots of very sexy South African and Aussie expats, many of whom are still pushing through from the previous night. |
RUSH Club 414, 414 Coldharbour Lane, SW9 (020 7924 9322). Second Sat & fourth Sun every month 6.30am-2pm. The clue is in the name. An after-party held for those who like their music hard and refuse to go to bed, no matter how naughty they’ve been. The music is outrageously loud, the punters cheer every big tune and, frankly, it’s one of London’s best-kept secrets. Go there and be amazed. |
| STUDIO 33 101 Tinworth Street, SE11 (020 7820 1702). Sat 5am-3pm. A Ј1.5 million refurbishment has seen the unlovely environs of the former Chunnel Club transformed into a well-appointed two-roomed venue that hosts a number of good late-night house and garage knees-ups. Friendly and relaxed, Studio 33 is slowly becoming the club of choice for those who hate to see the night end just because dawn is breaking. |
CLUB SUPREME 65 Goding Street, SE11 (020 7787 7363). Sat 6am-4pm, Sun 4am-2pm. This South London venue is now home to Smile on Saturday nights – a young ravers’ paradise, playing hardcore techno trance, aided by the impressive sound system and lighting rig. Other nights see smoother, more urban cuts for well-dressed South Londoners with no attitude but plenty of energy. |
